A Quick Trip to West Neck Was Ron's Plan Tonight

"Was not expecting much with the sunshine, warm temps, and no wind," Ron said in the opening line of his nightly fishing report, but things turned out OK for him.

His first hookup came while trolling a Bomber A squarebill. He hooked a white perch that was so tiny he didn't even know he was on. And before quitting time rolled around at 6:30, he had added a dink bass and one of his favorite, a bowfin, that weighed in at 3-15--all on a Whopper Plopper. A 10-inch crappie on the XTS Minnow rounded out tonight's adventure.

Ron said he had lots of short strikes and big wakes while fishing the WP, but the fish just wouldn't commit. He also noted that several shoreline casts spooked some good sized fish that just turned and ran away, making for some decent "V" wakes. He tried following up with the XTS, but didn't have any luck.
