Sixteen anglers in 11 boats brought a combined total of 50 bass to the scales at weigh-in. All but one boat weighed a five-fish limit. The combined total weight was 98.75 pounds, with an average weight per fish of 1.97 pounds.
Winners today included the following:
Taking 1st place honors was the brothers team of (from left) Allen and Chris Napier, with 14.35 pounds. Their big fish weighed 4.01 pounds. They also claimed the bigger side pot.
Finishing in 2nd place was the team of (from left) Richard Hall and David Dozier, with 13.16 pounds. They didn't weigh a big fish. The smaller side pot also went to this duo.
Laying claim to 3rd place, with 12.11 pounds, was the team of (from left) Mark Ingram and Bob Clarkson. Their money-winning kicker was the 5.46-pound big fish at right in the accompanying photo. It's evident this wide boy hasn't been missing any meals.
Here is how all the other competitors finished the day:
* Russell Gammon had 10.15 pounds, with no big fish.
* Gary Coderre had 9.69 pounds, with no big fish.
* Steve Bailey had 8.60 pounds, with no big fish.

According to tournament director Wayne Hayes, today marked the final open of the 2023 season. He indicated, however, that he likely will set up some more opens come spring 2024, so stay tuned to this venue for those announcements.
In the meantime, Wayne and I wish all of you the happiest of holidays. Stay safe and come back to join us for the 2024 season.
(P.S. With the exception of the picture of Bob Clarkson with today's big bass, please know that I had to draw upon my collection of file photos for this post. The simple truth of the matter is that I forgot my camera today. Chalk it up to having a few too many things on my mind at the moment.)
