Gotta Watch a Bed's Runaway Headboard

I was trying to change the frame settings on our bed today to accommodate a queen-sized mattress when the headboard got away from me and took a bead on my left knee. What you see in this picture is what the doctor and x-ray tech at Patient First saw a little earlier when I went in to find out if I had broken any bones.

Turns out all they found tonight was a lot of tissue swelling that, as the doctor explained, is going to take a lot of ice and probably a lot of months before it resumes any semblance of normal. And if the current swelling happens to double overnight, I'm directed to go see an ortho specialist tomorrow and have them drain the excess blood off my knee. Had that done to my eye once before, so I know what it's all about.

Not sure how this is going to affect my fishing. I very well may find that Wayne would just as soon not have anything to do with me for a spell, and if that happens, I'll understand. This problem may be a bridge too far for anyone to undertake.
