Put It On, Take It Off... and Repeat Again

That was the story of how today's third event in the 2015 season of this series went most of the morning, with "it," of course, being rain gear. Nevertheless, the 9 anglers in 7 boats fought both that and the wind, at times reportedly gusting to 40 mph, to the weigh-in at 3 o'clock this afternoon.

Claiming 1st place today was Chris Napier, who weighed the day's only five-fish limit, totaling 11.18 lbs. He also walked away with the big-fish award for a bass that tipped the scales at 2.89 lbs.

Finishing in 2nd place today was Chris Fretard, who weighed three bass, totaling 6.72 lbs. His big fish came in at 2.69 lbs. Chris also was the mystery-weight winner. His total weight was closest to the 7.80 tab that was drawn.

Here is how everyone else finished the day:

     * The team of  Ronnie and Chandler McLaughlin, three fish, 5.07 lbs. total weight, 2.55-lb. big fish.
     * Jim Wilder, two fish, 2.43 lbs. total weight, 1.36-lb. big fish.
     * The team of Tyler Caldwell and Shane Feken, one fish, 1.02 lbs. total weight, no big fish.
     * Gary Coderre, no fish to weigh.
     * Jake Milligan, no fish to weigh.

The lone angler to weigh a limit today said he caught all of his fish between 12 and 1 o'clock. Most people's comments, however, centered mostly on the fact they had to fight the windy conditions all day.

Overall, the anglers today weighed a total of 14 bass with a total weight of 26.42 lbs. That figure averages out to 1.88 lbs. per fish.

The next scheduled event in this series is Saturday, April 11. Start time will be safe light (about 6:30 a.m.), and weigh-in is set for 2:30 p.m.
